POLICY RESEARCH

Developed a cohesive strategy that recommended solutions to address the gap in seniors’ care and housing in 32 remote First Nations communities in northwestern Ontario as well as the towns of Sioux Lookout and Pickle Lake. The project resulted in a strategy that was approved by the Ministry of Long-term Care and was taken to the Chiefs.

MINISTRY OF CHILDREN, COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL SERVICES - DEVELOPMENT OF BENEFIT SCHEDULES

Developed formalized schedules of benefits available for Ontario Disability Support Program recipients. Conducted comparative analysis, literature review and policy analysis to develop schedules, identify opportunities for improved procurement. The outcome was to clarify and standardize coverage to make it easier for participants, case workers and prescribers, reduce administrative burden and support program sustainability through innovative procurement models. Conducted with Nous Group.

ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN

SALVATION ARMY - DETAILED OPERATING MODEL "SPECIALIZED MISSION"

Led the development of the organizational structure for the Salvation Army's social services. The organization wanted more separation of the social services from the church duties of the organization. The work was complex and involved numerous workshops with the leadership team, a working group and engagement with the operational Directors of the social service functions. The outcome was an agreed upon organizational design, role descriptions and a high-level roadmap for implementation.

ONTARIO MINISTRY OF HEALTH & LONG-TERM CARE -
LONG-TERM CARE INSPECTIONS PROGRAM ORGANIZATIONAL REVIEW

Conducted a comparative analysis of the current Long-term Quality Inspections organizational model and other regulatory inspection programs to develop an optimal organizational model to support the Ministry in strengthening inspection and enforcement functions of long-term care management and delivery. Work included document review, stakeholder engagement, comparative analysis, the development of an ideal state organizational structure, and an implementation plan. The result was approval for new management positions and a new operational unit to better manage and support inspectors in the field.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

ONTARIO COALITON OF RAPE CRISIS CENTRES - STRATEGIC PLAN

Working with 29 sexual assault centres across Ontario, led a strategic planning process to assist in the development of a comprehensive strategic plan to guide the coalition over the the next five years. An inclusive, collaborative approach was important in the strategic planning process to align the members. It was also critical to embed a trauma informed, anti-racist framework in the strategic planning process.

CITY OF OTTAWA LONG-TERM CARE - STRATEGIC PLAN

Developed a strategic plan for the City of Ottawa’s Program and Services Team.  The team provided in-depth research into person-centred care models to support decision-making. We held four leadership sessions to co-develop the strategy including defining a new model of care for LTC homes in the City of Ottawa. The Strategic Plan was approved and the new person-centred care model was rolled out in one of the LTC homes.  In partnership with Clubine Consulting.
